"I went into vehicle recovery from 1970 to 1982 with workshops, accident repair, tow and repairing. In 1982, we were making recovery equipment for our own fleet, and started selling our own equipment to other operators," he says.

The first product he built was a slide-bed on a Magirus Deutz chassis cab. He moved away from recovery in 1983-84, and the move to Droitwich separated the company from the vehicle recovery side, which remained in Redditch.

Dyson broke away from vehicle recovery in 1986 and the operation continued to expand on site until 2001, when he picked up the order for the AA with an eight-products-a-week manufacturing line.

By 2005, plans for the £3.5m investment and redevelopment programme, including a new stores facility, steel preparation plant, shot blasting, paint and sub assembly building, got underway The official opening took place on 12 June 2008. The event was hosted by Radio 2's Sally 'Traffic' Boazman and more than 200 people attended.
