Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

AN interesting departure from its usual practice has just been made by the famous Hotchkiss automobile concern in the production of a com mercial chassis. This is a robust, medium-powered 2f-ton vehicle, available in short and long wheelbases for goods or passenger transport. The four-cylindered 2.3-litre engine, which has been developed from the highly efficient Hotchkiss car engine, has a bore and stroke of 86 mm. and 99.3 mm. respectively. Overhead valves are operated from a chain-driven camshaft, through the medium of push-rods and rockers. Battery igni tion is employed and the engine has a three-bearing crankshaft. The chassis frame is exceedingly stiff and suspension is by half-elliptic springs at both the front and rear. The transmission system includes a flexibly mounted single-disc clutch and a four-speed gearbox, the central joint of the propeller shaft being carried on ball bearings. A doublereduction gear is incorporated in the rear axle, which is of the banjo type. The chassis has right-hand steering, as in all Hotchkiss products, and Bendix duo-servo braking is employed. Marketed at a moderate price, this new vehicle has been well received in France. It is available with a wide range of standard bodies, a good example of Hotchkiss bodywork being the I8-20-seater illustrated. Detail work and finish are up to the standard found in private cars of this make.
