THE GOVERNMENT has no intention of reviving the proposals of a motorway box or ringway system to solve the notorious traffic problems of London's Earls Court. Transport Minister Lynda Chalker made this promise in writing to West London MPs this week.
She said she was looking at realistic proposals rather than grand designs which would devastate West London if adopted. Despite the M25, industry and commerce would require a good network of routes in London to keep the capital alive.
Mrs Chalker accused the GLC of failing to face up to the problem.
