C. Ezell has relinquished his directorships of United Transport Co Ltd subsidiaries Bulwark Contracts Ltd and Leonard J. Stamp Ltd Boards. M. White, director and general manager of Maidstone and District Motor Services Ltd, has accepted an offer of early retirement for health reasons and he will relinouish his post on June .30 after serving nearly 43 years in the road passenger transport industry. Mr White will be succeeded by L. S. Higgins who for the time being vill also assume responsibility for the East Kent Road Car Co Ltd. Mr Higgins will relinoulsh his present appointment as general manager co the Southdown and Brighton Companies as soon as' a successor is appointed.

A. R. Holder, a director of Charringtons Transport Ltd. has retired after 45 years in road haulage. He left school at the age of 14 and joined his father at Rolt Street, Deptford, in the firm that was to become A. R. Holder & Sons Ltd. From 1946. Mr Holder ran the firm with his younger brother. The business was taken over by Charrington, Gardner, Locket in 1964, and Mr Holder only left the Deptford railway arches six months ago when Charringtons Transport concentrated its London-based fleets at Belvedere, Kent.

RHA ELECTIONS

H. A. Russett (Premier Transport Ltd, Bristol) has been re-elected chairman of the Road Haulage Association express carriers' group: K. J. Fitzmaurice (Fitzmaurice Carriers Ltd. Norwich) and D. Pragnell (Carryfast Ltd, Southampton) were re-elected vice-chairmen.

Cecil H. Telling, proprietor of Tel-Ser Transport, Royalty Cottage, Minety, nr Malmesbury, Wilts, has been elected chairman of the Road Haulage Association Western area. H. W. Davis, director of H. Davis and Sons, Gloucester, and H. A. Russett, managing director of Premier Transport Ltd. St Philips, bristol, are vice-chairmen.
