• As announced in CM last week the DoE has arranged a programme of smoke emmission demonstrations at heavy goods vehicle testing stations. The programme up to mid-May is as follows: W. Midland traffic area; Garretts Green and Featherstone, April 8. North Western; Simonswood and Bredbury, April 9. Yorks; Leeds, April 15, Sheffield, April 16. E. Midland; Grimsby, April 13, Watnall and Leicester, April 14. Eastern; Peterborough, April 12, Chelmsford, May 11, Downham Market, May 12. Northern; Darlington, April 21, Newcastle upon Tyne, April 22, Carlisle, April 26. Scottish; Livingston, April 23, Aberdeen, April 24, Bishopbriggs, April 25. S. Wales; Ammanford, April 28, Llantrisant, April 29. Western; Bristol, April 30, Plymouth, May 1, Exeter, May 2.,5. Eastern; Southampton, May 6, Hastings, May 7.
Demonstrations all start at 10 am except those at Featherstone, Simonswood, Watnall, Darlington and Ammanforcl where they begin at 2.30 pm.
