AUT this week from the Road Transport Industry Training Board went 25,000 questionnaires on remuneration and numbers of employees. This is a compulsory return authorised under Section 6 (2) of the Industrial Training Act 1964.
These 25,000 establishments represent most of the larger employers of labour in the industry and the return has been timed to coincide with the PAYE return on which most of the required information is avail. able. Along with the RTITB return the Board is circulating its second Information Bulletin.
The Board hopes to institute a scheme of training grants beginning in autumn. Although initially limited in scope, the grants will be for training actually being carried out by employers at the present time.
