The Universal vulcanizers are cometely automatic in operation, and heat applied through the mandrel, which fitted inside the cover, and also through a heat pad on the outside of the cover.

Time required to complete the cure of a tyre on the smaller machine is said to be 30 min. and on the larger, 70 min. Electric consumption of the two units is 615 watts and 1,500 watts respectively.

A range of nylon vulcanizing plasters has also been developed by Romac, primarily for use with the new electric type of repair mould.

Approximate cost of the vulcanizers is £195 for the 100-4A model and £625 for the 400-A model,
