FIRESTONE TYRE AND RUBBER CO.'S two new factories in France will be operating this year. Output from the tyre plant at Bethune—the company's sixth European facility—is due to commence this month. By the autumn, the synthetic rubber factory at Port Jerome
will be completed. This plant will produce Dienc, a synthetic which is blended with and improves the quality of natural rubber in tyre production.
