UNITED BISCUITS has put 20 tri-axle longer semi-trailers from Cartwright into service.
The own-account operator is running the 15.6m curtainsiders from its DC in Ashby de la Zouche, Leicestershire.
The rear command-steer trailers are painted in six different liveries and have insulated load-bearing curtains to protect the chocolate products.
Rob Wright, United Biscuits UK and Ireland logistics controller, said: “We can now get 60 pallets on these longer semitrailers compared with 52 pallets before.
“We are beneitting from 15% additional capacity.”
