GRANT AND STONE has been given the go-ahead to base four vehicles at a new operating centre in Smithield Road, Maidenhead, subject to the following conditions: • access to and exit from the operating centre for authorised vehicles shall be by way of the Cannons Lane end of Smithield Road; • authorised vehicles shall be parked within the operating centre in accordance with a plan attached to the application; • authorised vehicles shall enter and leave the operating centre in a forward gear; • except where essential for the operation of HIAB mechanisms – integral loading/unloading crane – authorised vehicles shall not “run up” engines for more than ive minutes or be left idling; • no authorised vehicle shall be parked, loaded or unloaded in Smithield Road; • no authorised vehicle shall drive over the pavement when turning into or out of the operating centre – save on the pavement immediately between the operating centre and the road; • no authorised vehicle shall move into, within or out of the operating centre except within the hours of 7.30am to 6pm Mondays to Fridays, and 7.30am to 1pm on Saturdays. There shall be no movements on Sundays; • no major repairs shall be carried out at the operating centre; • no more than four authorised vehicles shall be kept at the operating centre at any one time; • the authorised vehicles are not to exceed 18-tonne GVW.

SJ Bargh

SJ BARGH can station 10 vehicles and 14 trailers at a new facility at the Hall End Business Park in Dordon, Tamworth.

KDS HAS been granted permission for one vehicle and one trailer at a new operating centre in Hill Farm Avon Dassett, Southam, subject to undertakings.

These include: • all authorised vehicles will have a thorough and effective pre-MoT inspection; • maintenance systems, vehicle inspections and maintenance documentation will be audited by a trade association every six months for two years.

Maritime Transport

MARITIME TRANSPORT wants to base 20 vehicles and 20 trailers at the Davies Turner and Co site on the Hams Hall Distribution Park in Coleshill, Birmingham.

Great Bear Distribution

GREAT BEAR Distribution has been given authorisation for 10 vehicles and 20 trailers at a new operating centre in Crystal Drive, Oldbury, Smethwick.

• Ball Truckin, based in Atherstone, will appear at a PI on 6 September, when disciplinary action will be looked at. The TC will consider a community authorisation and the transport manager’s repute.

• On 6 September the TC will look at disciplinary action against Craig Mark Watson trading as Acorn Skips. The business is based in Stoke-on-Trent.

• The TC will look at disciplinary action against Myles Creek Haulage based in Birmingham on 13 September.

• Disciplinary action against Edima Holdings based in Tamworth will be considered at a PI on 13 September and the repute of the transport manager will be looked at.

• A PI on 20 September will consider a new application from Harkin Group, based in Birmingham. The TC will consider disciplinary action against related firm J&J Harkin.

Bristol

• H Young Transport based, in Eastleigh, will appear before the TC at a PI on 19 September. Disciplinary action and the repute of the transport manager will be considered.

• At a PI on 19 September the TC will look at disciplinary action against Penny Lane Foods, based in Bridgwater.
