• Birmingham-based Carlyle Works, the National Bus Company engineering subsidiary, has been expanding its business activities prior to privatisation.
It has extended its Van Hool parts and service agency following a recent campaign to attract additional dealers and has appointed UBM Ford of Exeter to provide parts and service for Van Hool in the West Country.
Following further rationalisation of its parts division, Carlyle has also been appointed as Midlands PS' distributor for BTN Turbochargers. BTN are specialist turbochargers reconditioners and are main agents for Garrett.
In addition to its business changes, Carlyle's vehicle division has won a further order for 40 Sherpa-based minibuses from Tyne and Wear PTE.
