I N response to requests from some of the bodies consulted, the Ministry of Transport has not pressed them for immediate comments on the proposed vehicle noise regulations: the origin' date stipulated was September 1.
The Road Haulage Association, wh:ch has asked the Minister to arrange a demonstration to help its highways and vehicles committee form a judgment on the proposed maximum noise levels (The Commercial Motor, August 23), has, at the time of writing, had no reply to this request.
A committee of the Traders Road Transport Association will meet on September 13 to 'decide on the comments to be made to the Ministry.
