The Minister of Transport has now made effective the announced intention to appoint Mr. E. C. Ottaway to be a full-time member of the London Transport Board. The appointment dates from September I.

Mr. Frederick Clem has been appointed managing director of Chrysler-Cummins Ltd., the new jointly owned company which is to manufacture diesel engines in Darlington. He will continue to serve on the boards of Chrysler Motors Ltd. and Dodge Bros. (Britain) Ltd. Chairman of the new company is Mr. Reece Hatchitt, senior vice-president, international operations, Cummins Engine Co. Inc. Also on the board are Mr. C. R. Ball, Cummins' executive vice-president, marketing. Mr. K. L Kingsley, Chrysler International's executive director, eastern hemisphere, Mr. F. J. Willard, managing director of Chrysler Motors Ltd. and Dodge Bros. (Britain) Ltd., and Mr. S. Hartshorne. Mr. Hartshorne, who is technical director of the new company, has been Cummins' commercial and technical manager at the Shotts, Lanarkshire, factory.
