THE Road Haulage Association is to support an appeal by one of its members, K. P. Venables. of Totteridge Road. Enfield, against the endorsement of his driving licence under the provisions of the Road Traffic Act, 1962.

One of Mr. Vcnables drivers was convicted and fined in Bristol on July 19 as a result of his vehicle having defective brakes. Mr.. Venables, who runs five vehicles, was also 'ordered to pay a fine and have his licence endorsed.

An official of the R.H.A. said on Wednesday that the Association viewed this as a test case. R.H.A. solicitors were preparing the appeal on behalf of Mr. Venables, which will be heard at Bristol Quarter Sessions.
