VE ANNOUNCE a • demonstration of coal-gas ipelIed vehicles, to be held in the near future at no central spot in London, and we ask for the co.uation of ownera who have vehicles running on s fuel to loan them for exhibition on that.day.

rile articles that have appeared On the subject have msed universal interest. Commercial men in all des where road transport is a feature have ex3ssed a desire to inquire more fully into the pros I_ cons of the question. This manifestation of in-. eat directly points to the necessity for opportunity , Mg provided where the actual vehicles, fitted with ti-gas attachments,: may be closely inspected, and

various ingenious methods employed in overfling initial difficulties can be noted. A repreitative collection of vehicles is essential, in order it the suitability of coal-gas for each type May be )arately considered, and that the various devices orporated by owners themselves may be compared I their suitability determined.

[le performances of vehicles running on coal-gas ?l-are being reviewed from week to week in the ges of THE COMMERCIAL Moron. The number of vehicles using coal-gas fuel has increased in •proportion to -the number of flexible holders, that have been supplied,. and up to the present that supply has been very limited but is now being extended.

We recognize that the flexible container may prove to be but a war-time expedient, and that inventive effort is wrestling with the problem of compression along practical lines. We hope that at our demonstration_there will be vehicles driven by compressed gas.

It is significant that in official quarters 'coal-gas fuel is receiving increasing consideration. We cannot yet say much on the subject, but it is gratifiying to note that the• initial prejudices to the adoption.' of the fuel have been dispersed.

The demonstration that we have in mind, will be held at some spot of easy access from all quarters, where facilities for garaging the vehicles under cover will be available.

We invite correspondence from those of our readers who would be willing to cO-op6rate by lending their vehicles for a couple of hours on the day spet, ified. 0:39
