Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Iveco Ford has launched a four-tonne version of the TurboDaily van and chassis-cab. The new model has a 4.2-tonne GVW; it will be available with highcube or high-roof van bodies or as a chassis-cab.

Three wheelbase options will be offered: 3.31m, 3.60m and 3.95m. This equates to body capacities of 10.1m3, 12.3m, and 15.4m3. Payloads range from around 1,890kg to 2,100kg.

Power comes from the Sofim 2.5-litre-direct injection turbocharged and charge-cooled engines, producing 102hp (76kW) and 114hp (85kW) respectively at 3,800rpm. Models are badged 40.10 and 40.12 accordingly. Torque outputs are 1751bft (237Nm) for the 40.10 and 1811bft (245Nm) for the 40.12, at 2,000rpm. The engines are shared with the rest of the TurboDaily line-up—power is transmitted to the rear axle via a five-speed synchromesh gearbox.

TurboDailys now range from 3.5 to 6.0 tonnes with similar body options across the range. The lightest (35.10 and 35.12) models are marketed by Iveco: the 40, 49 and 59 models are marketed by Iveco Ford. Iveco markets the 35tonne models to avoid a clash with Ford's 3.5-tonne GVW Transits.

Ford has extended the Transit range to include 4.0-tonne GVW models but, according to Ford Commercial Vehicle Marketing Manager Mike Platts: "The TurboDaily has been launched with mutual agreement. Although it is a competitor the two are also complimentary in many ways." To the end of July this year Iveco Ford had sold 279 3.5-tonne GVW TurboDailys, compared with 24,369 Transits.
