• Francis Newell and Paul Wright, partners in Sheffieldbased Newell & Wright, have been cleared of causing drivers to falsify tachograph charts at the start of what was expected to be a three-week trial.
Newell, of Upper Whiston Lane, Rotherham and Wright, of Kiveton Lane, Todwick, Sheffield had denied 18 offences each of causing seven drivers to make false tachograph records at Sheffied Crown Court.
They were acquitted after the prosecution offered no evidence.
