QOUTH AFRICAN RAILWAYS have t•—•1 awarded a contract worth nearly £150,000 to Bus_ Bodies, Ltd., Port Elizabeth, in respect of 60 buses. A spokesman for Bus Bodies said that this was one of the biggest orders the company had received from S.A.R. in the past five years.

A total of 80 new buses is required, mainly for servicing country areas. Those to be built by Bus Bodies, Ltd., will be 36 ft. long, with eight first-class seats and 53 third-class. Most of the chassis will be British, but 20 of the 80 vehicles will be based on Italian chassis.
