THE first meeting of the newly formed car transporter group ok the Road Haulage Association tobk place yesterday (Thursday). Items discussed and the name of the elected chairman will be published next week. . Arising from the recent Fleet Management Conference sponsored by The Commercial Motor, the highways and vehicles committee of the R.H.A. is working towards closer co-operation between manufacturers and operators and has approached vehicle manufacturers • on a number of relevant points.
Another recent move by the committee has been to approach manufacturers on the question of supplying reasonably priced kits to enable vehicles to be modified to meet the new weights and dimensions regulations.
