MEGOTIAT1ONS for better working 1 Nconditions for operatives are announced in the case of Red and White Services, Ltd., and the Potteries Motor
Traction Co., Ltd. Under an agreement reached between the Red and White concern and the Transport and General Workers' Union, some 600 workers will receive higher wages, a week's holiday on full pay, free uniforms and other concessions.
The P.M.T. has offered completely to reorganize existing work schedules to meet the men's requirements and to raise the wages of drivers by 2s. per week and of conductors by Is. 6d. per week. The men have not yet reached any decision.
PRESTON CONVERTS TO OILERS.
PRESTON Corporation has ordered 12 oil engines from Leyland Motors, Ltd., for converting existing petrolengined buses and, after the changeover is effected, only 16 petrol-driven vehicles will remain out of a total of 74 Leylands operated by the council.
