Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE INTERNET IS having a massive impact on used truck sales nationally and internationally, says Anthony Wright, managing director of prominent exporter European Vehicle Sales (EVS).

"Increasingly we're finding that overseas customers, especially those who have dealt with us for a number of years, are buying trucks off our website rather than flying in to visit us," he says. "By adopting this policy they save a lot of time and expense. They see the vehicle on our site, they send us the money and we send them the truck. It's as simple as that."

EVS tends to concentrate on MercedesBenz, so the vehicle will typically be an Actros or Axor, four to five years old. Actros and Axor sales are split 50/50, but Wright reckons Axors would dominate if he could get enough of them. • • Volvo specialist Thomas Hardie Used Thick Centre has just launched a new website at www.thomashardieusedtrucks. co.uk — it is easy to use, but the modest number of trucks on the site underlines the shortage of vehicles nationwide.
