Truckfest regular Ray Leigh Transport delivered a scathing attack on truck operators attending the showcase event over the Bank Holiday weekend for failing to use it to highlight the industry's plight over rising diesel prices (see report, pages 16-23).

General manager Darren Leigh told Commercial Motor "I'm very angry. We've been coming here for years, and to walk around the showground you'd think there was nothing wrong. We're talking about an industry that's on its knees—but I don't see that here."

He was particularly critical of Truckfest competitors for not putting RHA "Fair Play on Fuel" decals on their trucks.
