Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE BRITISH operators' preference for aluminium alloy bodywork was much in evidence. Despite this material's extra price penalty, UK bodybuilders are using it far more than the heavier steel.

Lightweight bodies were definitely the order of the day with examples from all the well-known makers.

One was Wilcox's completely new fold-in side body. It has a body weight of around 1.8 tonnes (35cwt). This can be converted from a high-sider to a flat very quickly.

Another Wilcox product on display was a bulk blower unit, mounted on a Bedford TM tractive unit. All the equipment is mounted behind the cab.

Shown on a Seddon Atkinson 200 was a Weightlifter body by J. B. VVeightman. The body was shown on the 3.8m (12ft 6in) wheelbase 200.

Further examples of lightweight bodies were shown by Neville Industries.

This company, which manufactures the Ultralite body (shown on a Leyland Reiver and the new Mercedes), was also showing a high-sided NeviHoy body on a Magirus Deutz.

Several examples of the Cravens Homalloy Tasktip were being shown. The Tasktip bulk tipping semi-trailer has additional capacity and a strengthened rear end and extra side Supports.

Among the more interesting accessories and components on show was a servicable fifth-wheel made by VBG of Sweden. The centre section of the coupling is removable and can be replaced quickly by a replacement section. Alternatively if a larger kingpin diameter is required, a unit to accommodate this can be fitted.

Finally, the eternal problem of fractured tail lights is said to be reduced by the introduction of the Luma tail-light assemblies. These units are made of rubber with stainless steel bulb holders and high impact hinge lens.
