Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

by Chris Tindatt DRIVERS CAUGHT IP IN Operation Stack in Suffolk should now have access to food and toilet facilities at a new site designated for trucks after the council advertised for mobile caterers.

The new emergency procedure for dealing with vehicles heading for Felixstowe Port during periods when it is forced to close involves directing trucks on to the old A45 at Levington.

The plan was put into place after concerns over the safety of parking LGVs on one lane of the A14. The site has the capacity for 280 vehicles and in an effort to deal with drivers' concerns about a lack of basic facilities, Suffolk Coastal District Council is making arrangements for toilets, bins and food to be made available.

Suffolk Coastal District Council deputy leader Andy Smith says: -Ideally we are looking for two mobile catering vans that can be in place on site at relatively short ,rnotice. The coun cil would like to establish a list of approved caterers that can be called on when needed. -The catering is the final piece in the jigsaw, with all the other basic facilities already lined up to make the old A45 a much more acceptable location," he adds. "Mobile toilets are ready to go in place and additional litter bins and temporary lighting will be installed."

The police acknowledge that there will be disruption to local communities wherever trucks park, but Inspector Trevor Sharman says stacking on the old A45 helps everyone.

-Compared with a live lane of traffic on the A14 this is a sterile area, and relatively safe.

"We can maintain a safety lane through the centre of the stack so that emergency vehicles can respond to anything and get through,he says.
