• Dimplex's new quartz electric heaters heat people and not space, says the manufacturer. The heaters are not designed to raise the ambient temperature but just the people they are aimed at with little loss to the air. This makes the heaters useful for workshops where large doors are frequently opened.
Infra red radiant heat is emitted from the element which operates at about 2,200°C. Three sizes are available from 1,5 — 4.5kW and all are claimed to give instant, silent heat.
