He was, he said, "most distressed" to read in the Conservative Statement on Industrial Policy, that the Party intended, on its return to power, to "restore a wide measure of freedom to road transport A and B licences." The Industrial Charter continued that, "the nationalization of long-distance road haulage is . . . without justification as a practical measure for improving transport services."
Mr. Clark Hall declared that the Bill was either good or bad, and must accordingly be accepted or completely rejected. No qualified version could ever be acceptable.
