Official Information, Aided by Maps, Which Should Prove of Inestimable Value to Coach Proprietors.

THE LIST which we published in our last week's issue of towns and cities with which we intend to deal in con: nection with our parking plans for visiting motor coaches has aroused considerable interest amongst proprietors, and owners in many parts of the country have already expressed their -views on the order in which they would prefer the information to be published. Naturally eniqugh, most proprietors express a preference for the publication of information dealing with places within comparatively eas travelling distance from the scene of their activities, a though certain owners who cater principally for the long-dis nee tourist have asked for particulars of-parking arrangements in places much farther afield.

As we have already miinted out, our mainl object in pub lishing this list was to ascertain from coah owners am drivers their views upon the sequential importance of tht arious centres, and we look to o,w tiers and drivers to assist us in ascertaining the general consensus of opinion in this matter.

We have already dealt with the parking rrangements in 34 different towns and cities, and below w deal with the reelations in force in Kilmarnock, Lancaster and Torquay.

KiLmARNOCK.—There is no public place t aside in this town for the parking of visiting motor coa lies; but, as a number of vehicles frequently visit Kilmarnoek, it would be as well for owners and drivers to know that accommodation can be obtained at the following garages at charge of 2s. per vehicle per day :—The Dunlop Motor ICe.,. Ltd., can accommodate 30 coaches in their premises in Grange Street; Messrs. Dick Bros. have space for 20 vehicle in their Green Street premises, whilst the Kilmarnock Motofr Co., Ltd., of Portland Street, are in a position to garage six coaches.

L-ANOASTETt. —Motor coaches visiting Lancaster must set down and pick up their passengers in Dalton Square, which is not far away from the Town Hall. The parking ground is the north side of Cable Street, and vehicles have to enter this street, via North Road and leave the site via Chapel Street. No charge is made for parking. TORQTYAT.--A committee of the Torquay Town Council has again decided to allow a portion of the North Quay or Fish Quay and the Beacon Quay to be used for the parking of visiting motor coaches when garage accommodation is not procurable. The first site has accommodation for 30 coaches and the latter for 20 coaches. The charge for each coach per day. is 2s. 6c1., and the harbour master (Capt. J. Pengilly) is responsible for the arrangements in connection with parking and the collection of fees
