Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

The Driver Hour Guard CE02 is the latest drivers timer to he released on the market, offering a wealth of information to help keep the LGV Driver Legal. The CE02 will show how long you have been driving for today, this week and in the last fortnight, and how long you have remaining for the same periods, and warns you of your breaktime ensuring you take your legally required 45-minute break when it is due. It even makes you aware of the little publicised rest requirement of 30 minutes after no more than 6hrs duty time if you have not completed 4.5 hours driving.

Features

Truly a marvellous tool which also looks elegant in any cab, the (7E02 will also use any surplus time from rest periods to repay compensation owed, automatically deciding which rest compensation must be repaid first. The CE02 is very easy to operate. requiring four simple button presses at the start of your working shift using two buttons. Even a novice can master its use. Based on the original Driver Hour Guard which has become one of the most popular driver timers in the UK, the CE02 also has an added feature of being able to transfer all the stored data to a home or office PC using the supplied USB cable and software, which will list a range of daily totals.

The CE02 is supplied ready to use with rechargeable battery, 12v1 24v charger, an elegant stand, USB Lead and CD Rom containing software for reading the data which saves in csv format for use in almost any other spreadsheet software, along with a 12-page user manual. There is also a full technical support backup offered at local rate charges, where questions can be answered quickly. All the traditional features of the Driver Hour Guard have been preserved but with many new alterations, making the CE02 one of the most sophisticated driver timers the EC has yet to see. It is much easier to use than the original along with larger text on a larger screen with improved backlight. Available in black or silver we are sure you will be delighted with the new look Driver Hour Guard Timer. With the introduction of the Working Time Directive in March 2005, LGV Drivers and Transport companies were given yet another legal requirement to adhere to. It is now necessary to keep track of all working times ensuring that drivers do not exceed the 48hrs average working week over a fixed week period of 13 or 26 weeks. The Driver Hour Guard CE02 DHG is a new timer designed specifically to take into account the WTD requirements. It is based on the original hour guard but a whole lot of new features have been added. The CE02 stores the total times of work recorded for the drivers' daily work. At the end of each day, week, month or quarter, the stored information may be downloaded to a PC using the supplied USB lead and software and stored.

Daily calculations

The CE02 will record total driving, other work, breaks, period of availability, daily rest and weekly rest for the current day, week and fortnightly periods. In effect the CE02 can be used as a digital time sheet, with the added advantage that the driver can always see when his 45 minute break is required as it is updated at each delivery point automatically. The CE02 also takes into account the legally required 30-minute break after no more than six hours' duty time in the event that 4.5hrs driving time has not been reached.

Easy to read

The screen constantly displays the average working week total based on the 26-week period, which may be reset at any time without affecting the stored data from the timer itself. A major improvement now made is also the ability to automatically repay compensation for daily and weekly rest period reductions: if surplus rest has been taken the CE02 will automatically check to see the priority compensation needing repaid and use the surplus accordingly towards repayment. The text on the screen of the CE02 has now been enlarged with an improved backlight, lighting the whole screen and making reading the screen in the dark much easier.

The main software can now be rebooted at any time without affecting the totals stored under the 26 week average. The CE02 can save transport companies lots of man hours currently wasted by having to keep separate records for each driver keeping records of their other work, driving and period of availability totals for each day week, and having a staff member type the information into a PC. Instead you simply start the supplied software application, plug in the USB Lead and click retrieve data to download the stored data.

It can be saved in CSV format for use with most spreadsheet software applications. although we recommend using the CE02 software supplied on the CD Rom developed specifically for the CE02. The downloaded information may be printed off or stored to disk, giving the total daily/weekly rest taken between shifts, total daily other work, driving, break and period of availability times recorded for each day. This means a much more accurate account of the totals is at hand quickly. Truly a clever piece of equipment.
