A WEST COUNTRY Pall-Ex member has unveiled its latest acquisition which will work on its pallet-distribution operation.

Chilcomptonbased Massey Wilcox showed off the Mercedes Axor on the Mercedes stand at last weekend's Truckfest South West show.

The truck is plated at 18 tonnes and is fitted with a day cab and a 26ft Boalloy body complete with tail-lift.

Director Robert Wilcox explains that a new truck is rare for a local distribution operation: "Normally they tend to be older vehicles that have retired from distance work — in some cases that could make them up to 10 years old."
