A SCOTTISH HAULAGE firm is bracing itself for bad news after a major customer was placed into receivership.
Musselbrugh-based Pollock (Scotrans) has been working for the papermaking division of paper and packaging firm Smith Anderson, handling distribution from its Leslie, Fife paper mili. However, the papermaking division was placed into receivership on 16June.
The firm's other subsidiary, Smith Anderson Packaging, is not affected by the receivership.
Pollock (Scotrans) is understood to have taken over distribution at the mill from local Fife firm United Freight Distribution last year. Pollock has an operating centre licensed for 10 trucks and 30 trailers at the site.
No-one from Pollock (Scotrans) was available for comment on the situation; Smith Anderson's receivers also declined to comment.
