"A lot of drivers turn off a motorway at the last minute. Others will fly inside the hard shoulder to get past," he commented. "One time was on the A419 near Birdiip. A car driver had been in the outside lane, but then the road narrowed to just one lane. The driver overtook me and cut in as were going down a slope. I braked and flashed the lights. The car driver had his fist up and told me to pull over; then he drove off. I thought he might turn around, but he didn't."
Hennessey said that if things get to a certain point you have to do something, as long as you take care. "If this man had started damaging the cab! would have got out," he told us. "But the driver could be armed, so it's always best to be cautious."
