to a report made by the Independent Expert Group on Mobile Phones and Health (IEGMP), which was commissioned in April 1999 by the Government to undertake research. The report indicates that the balance of evidence does not suggest mobile phone technologies are a risk to health, although there is still much to learn. Within the report, the recommendation is reinforced that drivers should not use mobiles when operating a vehicle. The Government has indicated that specific legislation may be required to enforce this.
