• Volvo is offering to re-program FH12s for operators who want to move up to the Euro-2 emission standard.
Engine management software is adjusted to achieve the improvement on any FH12 supplied with D12A engines rated at 340, 380 or 420hp and suppLied between 1993 and 1996, Volvo says power and torque characteristics are unchanged by the re-programming but fuel consumption will inevitably increase. Any dealer can handle the upgrade, which is anticipated to cost around 22,000 a vehicle. Each engine will be checked to ensure it is suitable for the work.
Look for the designation D12A340/380/420 EM-EC93 on the plate label of your engine.
