Freightaids manufacture a demount kit which can be applied to any chassis and any type of body. The lift saddles will fit all standard chassis models under 40in. frame width and incorporate quick-release body locks. The saddles are raised by two electro-hydraulic rams. Total lift capacity of the two saddles is 16 tons and the height of lift available is 14in. Matching leg and stay assemblies are produced which are designed to be in corporated into the body. Freightaids use these basic parts in its Slimline Flat demountable. This flat has been tested to BS 449:1970 at a 10-ton payload; its all-up weight (less floor) for a 25ft version is 14icwt. Overall depth of the flat including the floor is lin. The chassis equipment with 24V electrics weighs 6cwt and costs £660; the body equprnent weights 18cwt and costs £220. The complete Slimline demountable underframe in primer ready for flooring costs £475 for a 15ft version; extra length £5 per ft to 25ft maximum.
