W. E. & F. Dobson Ltd, Colwick industrial Estate, Nottingham, NG4 2BT

Dobson is an hydraulic engineer and naturally its Clear Lift demount system is an hydraulic one. Like the majority of hydraulic systems Clear Lift uses a remote electro-hydraulic pack but it is also offered with a pump driven by a gearbox-mounted pto. The electro-hydraulic system saves the engine having to run in enclosed loading areas to pick up or drop the body. Four rams are fitted to the vehicle chassis and provide a lift of 16in. to cater for spring deflection, chassis clearance and uneven ground. The hydraulic circuit is designed to enable a level lift to be made at all times even when the load is unevenly distributed. The bodies have the minimum of working parts to maintain and the chassis installation is backed up by Dobson's own aftersales service. Clear Lift can be adapted to suit multiple body trunking using rigids, drawbar combinations and semi-trailers.
