• Van hire specialist TLS Range has boosted its fleet by 1,100 vehicles with the £7.5 million buy-out of Auto Rentals (Nationwide). TLS hopes to expand its 1,800 strong fleet further: "We are always looking at opportunities in light commercials as we withdraw from the 17-tonne box and curtainside sectors," says managing director Peter Roberts.
e Peterborough haulier Kenny Transport will expand its recently formed rental arm into two new depots this year.The company has 100 vehicles from panel vans to 38-tonners.
Commercial director Adrian Watt is confident the rental operation will boom in 1994. 'We will be looking to start rentals from our sites in Manchester and Coventry and increase the size of the fleet, he says."
