Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• The family of a British truck driver imprisoned in France for drug smuggling is facing eviction from its home in west Wales.

Mitzie Barber, who has two daughters aged four and 11 months, has been given until the end of this month to pay off a bank loan and overdraft totalling £22,000.

If she fails to do so, the bank is likely to declare her husband bankrupt and sell the house to recoup its money.

John Barber is on remand in prison in Bayonne, south-west France, charged with smuggling 240kg of cannabis. He insists he was duped into carrying the drugs in his cargo of Spanish oranges.

If found guilty of the charge, Barber faces a long jail sentence and a fine equivalent to 10% of the value of the £750,000 drugs haul.

In another blow to the family, the company which owns the seized oranges has warned that it may pursue Barber for the consignment's market value of £12,000 if insurers refuse to pay out.
