In New Year Honours List
MANY men from the commercial vehicle industry received awards in the New Year Honours List, which this year was notable for the number of awards to businessmen and industrialists who have been instrumental in boosting exports.
Among those recognized were Mr. George Edward Beharrell, chairman, Dunlop Rubber Co., Ltd.; Mr. Cecil Dannatt, vicechairman, Associated Electrical Industries, Ltd.; Mr. Charles Thacker, managing director, Ford Motor Co., Ltd.; and Mr. Frank Woodhead, chairman and managing director, Toledo Woodhead Springs, Ltd.
