Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

as to the cheapest rate at which 1 could run a workpeople's service. This would have to bear the whole cost of operation as no other work is available.

I have three vehicles, two Maudslay 32-seaters and a Bedford. It was my intention to use each 32-seater during alternate months, changing the licence and insurance over at the end of each month.

One point I feel in operating such a service is that the drivers could clean and maintain all three vehicles, which seem to deterioriate nearly as much when standing as when running.

The, following are the costs for the vehicle : tax, £15 16s. 10d. per quarter; comprehensive insurance, £22 Os. 8d.; petrol, 5.1 m.p.g. at ls. 4d. per gallon; driver's wages, £3 per week; total mileage (including light), 282. The service will be operated seven days per week. J.E.C. Coventry.

[The total cost of operating the service described would be £17 per week. That includes provision for overheads as well as costs of the vehicle. In assessing the latter, we have taken into consideration the fact that the driver will be able to carry out routine maintenance, washing and cleaning at no extra charge. We are of the opinion that £22 per week, plus the extra cost of petrol, is the minimum you ought to earn.-9.T.R.]
