TO encourage the manufacture and sale of passenger vehicles and lorries running on charcoal gas, the Italian Government has decided to grant bounties for new vehicles constructed with engines to run on charcoal gas. Such engines already enjoy lower taxation than petrol-driven vehicles.
The bounties, we learn, will be 9,000 lira (2120) for a vehilcle carrying six tons or more, 6,000 lira (£80) for four tons or more, and 4,000' lira (252) for two torts Or more.
