Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

The Government is proposing a £500 "rebate" for hauliers who put particulate traps in their trucks. The traps cost £4,000 each. Rebate? Excuse me if I have this wrong, but isn't this a £3,500 penalty?

There's nothing wrong with encouraging greener trucks and there's nothing wrong with charging opera

tors for them. But please will the Government stop trying to pretend it is giving hauliers anything.

There is only one class of people that will pay for cleaner trucks: hauliers. Gavin Leeson,

Bridgend.
