Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

ANOTHER relative newcomer to the eight-wheeler market, the Volvo is based on the mechanical components of the well known F86.

The turbocharged TD 70 E engine develops 150kW (20Ibhp) at 2,400rpm from the comparatively small capacity of 6.7 litres (409cuin). When tested by CM in October of last year, a 381mm (151n) diameter single-dry-plate clutch was fitted but this has now been replaced by a 356mm (141n) diameter twin-plate design. The gearbox is the R51 eight-speed range-change unit found on the F86 tractive unit. The drive line specification is completed with single-reduction spiralbevel rear axles.

The Volvo is available only In 8x4 form and is again designed primarily for tipper operation. The chassis-cab weight is 8.4 tonnes (8 tons 6cwt).

Since the prototype eightwheeler was built some three years ago, the rear bogie design has been altered and the truck now shares the "TRide" bogie with the bonneted N-series.
