Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE FAMILIAR Cummins, Gardner and Rolls-Royce engine options can be specified by the operator for an eightwheeler ERF. Power outputs range from I36kW (I83bhp) for the Gardner to I59kW (214bhp) for the Eagle 220. The clutch is a twin-dry-plate design, 349mm (I3.75in) diameter, with the standard gearbox being the David Brown six-speed although the eightspeed is available on option. A Kirkstall D65-8-1/HF doubledrive rear axle is the standard specification, but again, if required, an 8x2 version is available.

Intended for both haulage and tipper operation, the ERF can be supplied with either a 5.89m (19ft 4in) or a 6.48m (21ft 3in) wheelbase.

The cab for the ERF is the grp panelled SP type which has a steel subframe to take the stresses. As a typical chassis/cab weight, the short wheelbase Gardner -engined model weighs 8.6 tonnes (8 tons 9cwt) with around 10 gallons of fuel on board but no driver.
