Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE NEW Turkish transit taxes and permits laws have been amended for British operators (CM January 9).

Following negotiations with the Department of Environment, the Turkish authorities have waived requirements for British operators to hold authorisations to transit Turkey.

The transit tax has been reduced from 40 kurus per tonne km to 25 kurus. The tax, which was due to start on January 7, will not now apply until March 15. Empty vehicles will pay a lower tax which has yet to be specified.

The new fuel tax of 75 kurus per kilometre will continue to be levied as will weight and dimension taxes for vehicles which exceed the Turkish limits (CM January 9). (There are 100 kurus per Turkish lira and 31 Turkish lira to the E.)
