• There is still a considerable demand for trucks and buses which cannot be met in full, states Lord Stokes in the annual report of the British Leyland Motor Corporation Ltd. Leyland, AEC, Albion, Guy, Daimler and Leyland (Scotland) continue to achieve a satisfactory share of the available business, comments Lord Stokes, and all the corporation's commercial vehicle plants have full order books, but they are seriously affected by the general shortage of materials and components in the industry.
As reported more fully in CMJanuary 16, British Leyland made a profit after tax in 1969 of over £20.7m.
