Tom Ennis, 47. London-based distribution manager for a large American textile organization, is to become general manager of Northern Ireland Carriers Ltd. from May 1. Allan M. Eaton has been appointed general manager of the Borg and Beck Co. Ltd. at Leamington. Mr. Eaton will head up AP's expanding clutch division and also rationalize the Borg and Beck product range. Since 1967 he has been production manager of Rootes Motors transmission factory at Stoke.

W. R. Prew, 62, MoT deputy chief driving examiner since 1965, who has been chiefly responsible for the Ministry's recently publish ed Driving Manual, is to succeed J. Wilson, chief driving examiner since 1948, when he retires on March 4.

Peter Miller has been appointed manager of Taskers Trailers Ltd.'s factory at Cu mbernauld, near Glasgow. Mr. Miller was previously sales representative for Scotland.

Moir Lockheed has been appointed rolling stock superintendent with Hartlepool Corporation Transport; he succeeds A. Audas who is retiring after 43 years with the Corporation. Mr. Lockheed started his career with United Automobile Services Ltd. and was previously depot manager with Economac Ltd.

S. H. Morris, who was appointed traffic manager of the United Counties Omnibus Co., Northampton, in 1965, has taken up a new post as director and general manager of Cumberland Motor Services Ltd. He succeeds I. Campbell who has joined the Potteries Motor Traction Co.

J. F. Wallis has been appointed general sales manager of L. Lipton, Ltd., and will be based at Lipton's Fork Truck Centre, Feltham, Middx. Mr. Wallis was with the British Crane and Excavator Corporation for 10 years prior to taking up his new appointment. C. S. Williams has been appointed divisional director and general manager of Smith's Electric Vehicles Ltd., Gateshead; Douglas Smith is continuing as managing director.

E. S. Walker, by mutual agreement with the company, has decided to take an early retirement and has resigned his position as director of Duple Group Sales Ltd.

W. H. Strath has been elected chairman of the London Transport Managers Club. Mr. Strath began his career in transport in 1932 with Pickfords, and since the war he has been employed in varying capacities with Beck Pollitzer Ltd., United Carriers Ltd., J. Spurling Ltd., and Cubitt Town Transport; he is now managing director of Speedy Delivery Services Ltd. John Toohey, a director of East Anglian Carriers Ltd., has been elected vice-chairman, and J. S. Scriven, of Joseph Rank Ltd. , re-elected secretary.
