WHAT is described as a future policy YY sub-committee of Southport Transport Committee has been set up to investigate economies to offset higher running costs. Since fares were raised to meet an estimated loss of £20,000 a year, increased wages have added 0,500 to the department's annual bill. Services may be cut, but it is hoped to avoid advancing fares again.
