Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

FROMTHIS WEEK, drivers must retain tachograph records in their cabs for longer.A change in the law coming into effect on 1 January 2008 will require drivers to carry up to 29 days' records in the cabs, including the present day's—and to comply with this from 2 January drivers must be able to show their records from 5 December.

The UK legislation, which currently requires tachograph charts to be returned to employers within 21 days, i.s also expected to be amended shortly, to 42 days. This will mean that drivers must return charts no later than 42 days after they have been produced, but they may return them earlier provided the roadside production requirements are met.

Karen Crispe, the di rector of Tachodisc, says:"The key message here is that operators and drivers must start thinking about this now in order to comply. They risk running illegally if they don't take action until Jan uary.
