THE EUROPEAN Union Court:it of Ministers has decided how the contracts for building, launching and operating the Galileo global positioning service will be divided up among member states. This follows approval to spend an additional €2,4bn (il .7bn ) to create the satellite network (EU ministers fund Galileo UPS plan with unused agricultural subsidies'. CM 29 November). The Iwo main control centres will be in Italy and Germany; this will disappoint Spain, which wanted to host one.
