This week on TruckNet UK has been exceptionally busy with close to 180,000 pages being read on the website.

One of the main topics being discussed is. not surprisingly, the cost of fuel prices have been spotted as high as 21.20/lit.

Continuing a topic from the other week, the brother of a driver jailed in France for unknowingly carrying illegal drugs hidden in his cargo has been trying to get some answers from our civil servants and politicians. It seems he is being stonewalled so he has set up a petition on the Prime Minister's website. If he gets over 200 signatures the government should respond: http://petitions.pm.gov. uldUKtruckdrivers A new member joined the forums to ask for some advice. His employer had always kept him on the same truck and runs, and had no problems with his work until recently. Then his boss found out he was gay, and after that he was shuffled around vehicles, and given all the worst jobs. The driver has since left the firm feeling unable to work under those conditions and asks if he has any redress against the company. The good news is that he has found employment with a company where his sexuality is known and not an issue.

What is this driver talking about?

"Well done Rusty and Gary, the pies are great. Tell you what though, all the guys in the photos had something missing: a number underneath in big black letters coz I'm sure I've seen all these mugshots on crimewatch! Seriously though, I myself had a blinding night got home 6am, yes 6ann, drunk as a skunk and have suffered a bit today. But was it worth it? Oh yes! Hopefully we can keep this event going for years to come but we can't do that without your support so spread the word and just remember old drivers never die, they just get old and grumpy."

For those not in the know, last weekend saw the reunion of the Italian Drivers Club. What looks like a fun night was reported on in the Old Timers forum, and the event is set to become an annual get-together of drivers who ran to and from Italy in the 1970s and 1980s.
